If you have at least 3 GCSEs and 2 A Levels you should start studying the ACCA Professional Qualification (see below).
However, the ACCA Foundations in Accountancy (FIA) qualification is open to anyone regardless of age, qualifications or experience.
ACCA Foundations in Accountancy comprises 3 levels, of which only the Diploma is compulsory:
- Introductory certificate in financial and management accounting
- Intermediate certificate in financial and management accounting
- Diploma in accounting and business (FAB, FMA, FFA)
Once achieved the Foundations in Accountancy will lead to exemptions from the three Fundamentals papers of the Professional Qualification.

As the content of the  diploma level papers  are consistent with the equivalent Fundamentals papers, we suggest attending the courses for F1, F2 and F3 to prepare yourself for these exams.
You can then progress on to the professional qualification.

The ACCA professional qualification is globally recognised as a leading accountancy qualification, opening up many career opportunities in the world of finance.
Graduates with a relevant degree may be able to claim exemptions from some of the exams.
See ACCA GLOBAL to check your potential exemptions.
If you do not have a minimum of 3 GCSEs and 2 A Levels you will need to complete the ACCA Foundations in Accountancy exams first.
The ACCA Professional qualification has four stages:
- Knowledge (F1 – F3)
- Skills (F4 – F9)
- Essentials (P1 – P3)
- Options (two from P4 – P7)
To become fully qualified you must pass (or be exempt from) all the exams and complete three years relevant work experience.
You must also complete the ACCA’s online professional ethics module.

F1 to F4 are "on demand" computer based exams (CBEs) – these can be sat at any time at any approved CBE centre, including First Intuition centres. The exam will comprise a mix of multiple choice and objective test style questions.

The pass mark is 50% and they are 2 hours duration.

The remaining exams (F5 to P7) are available on scheduled exam dates four times a year (March, June, September and December) at one of the ACCAs exam centres. These must be booked through your MyACCA account.

From 2018 F5 to F9 are only available as computer-based exams.  The pass mark is 50%.  The exams are 3 hours and 20 minutes. The format of each exam differs slightly.

Your MyACCA account includes links to the exam software to practice before the real exam.
